- Age 55, Certifified Flight Instructor in Airplanes and Helicopters, 19,000 hours flying time, A&P/IA mechanic, licenses, 100 credit hours of Aeronautical Engineering in college, much of it recent years, in many of my classes I am older than my college instructors. I have owned in succession over 50 airplanes and helicopters. Presently I own and operate the same small handful of antiques the last few years. I still crop-dust each summer with helicopters, but after 27 consecutive summer seasons, I am more interested nowadays in the machinery reliability and its design than the mere flying.
